Check out this site of all 'Portable Applications'. How about a portable Web Browser (Firefox), Emial Client, Word Processer, or Entire office Suite. All Open Source (read: free.......or Legally Free).
I use Firefox, and it is Awesome. I know it's trendy to bash IE, but id DOES put IE to shame.
